Based at Medtia Place at 80 Union Street, Oldham, PSO is a significant employer within the borough, with nearly 250 staff and a turn-over of £8.2 million per year.
PSO is committed to ensuring that young people in the borough make the best possible start in life and fulfil their potential. The services it delivers include:
- Connexions Oldham (including OASIS, the young people's substance intervention service)
- Oldham Youth Offending Service
- Oldham Drugs and Alcohol Action Team
- Oldham Teenage Pregnancy Partnership
- Health4me (a young people's health project)
- Education Business Links (including Work Experience Unit)
PSO also formally controls the newly-formed organisation, Highway to Opportunities (H2O). Constituted as an independent company, H2O brings together Oldham Adult Careers Guidance Service, Opportunities for Women and Routes to Employment.
H2O's role is to provide a seamless service for adults aged 19 and above, living, working or studying in Oldham, to enable them to think about their future, prepare for work or returning to work, and providing intensive job search support.
