Oldham Drug Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) Response to GMP Drugs Raid

Help and advice for those affected by drugs in Oldham: 0808 161 1221

‘The DAAT is a strategic partnership which coordinates all statutory and voluntary organisations involved in drug and alcohol issues in Oldham’ comments Oldham DAAT Manager Kay French.

‘Through successful partnership working we are helping people get off drugs and rebuild their lives as well as minimising the harm caused to families and the community at large.’

‘The first point of contact for those wishing to seek help should be the 24 hour free phone number. From the point of calling the helpline, individuals are guaranteed information, support, and guidance whatever the nature of their problem and if needed, they can be referred to one of our substance misuse services that same day.’

‘We work with clients through a way that’s best suited to them, from counselling sessions and structured day programmes, to education, training and employment support activities, which help rebuild services users lives.‘

‘Our services are also extended to young people through a specialist young people’s service, delivered through the Connexions centre on Union Street, in addition to families and carers, whose lives are affected by the substance misuse of others. There is help and support available to all residents of Oldham - you just need to pick up the phone and ask.’
