Early Christmas present for Kickstart students

Young people attending Kickstart, an   Oldham charity delivering motor vehicle related qualifications, have received an early Christmas present this week after they were presented with a cheque for £1500 courtesy of a donation from Shaw and Crompton Parish Council

The money was raised by Councillor Hazel Gloster in her role as Chairperson of the Parish Council throughout the last year by arranging various activities including a sponsored walk, charity markets, coffee mornings, and a charity auction all contributed to the £3000 total which was split between two charities.

Steve Le Carpentier Training Officer at Kickstart commented 'We were very grateful to receive this donation, and the £1500 will allow us to improve our equipment and facilities in the training workshop which will mean young people can experience a greater experience of motor vehicle related activities.'

In the same event, 20 14 - 16 year olds were presented with certificates for completing ABC Motor Vehicle Maintenance Award, and will now go on to complete further studies working towards a full certificate.
