The team were nominated in May 2009 for their award after seeing the number of clients increase as a result of the recession.
'Since August 2008 we've had nearly 400 resident's sign up for courses, and around 250 were not qualified to GCSE standard.' Explains Learndirect Coordinator Louise Day.
'I think people are realising that it's not enough to be sitting comfortably within your own skills set. As competition for jobs increases residents need to be able to offer their employer more than they were previously. To be shortlisted for this award for the second year running is credit to the team and support we have available to us.'
Learndirect are delivered from Highway to Opportunities, a local employment charity based on Union Street.
The team will find out whether they have won their award at a ceremony at the Reebok Stadium on July 1st.
