Tuesday 26th September sees the launch of Learndirect at Highway to Opportunities (H20) on Union Street.
This opportunity provides thousands of people throughout Oldham with the chance to learn new skills over the Internet. It’s a great opportunity for everyone in the Borough, especially those who might not want to attend a college or adult training centre.
There is a wide choice of courses to choose from and because they are delivered online, students can take things at their own pace and at the times of their choosing. Students will also benefit from the state-of-the art ICT suite and trained and experienced staff to give that vital ongoing support which, experience shows, makes all the difference when people are learning new skills. This is particularly important for an online learning environment.
The service will be available at H20’s offices on Union Street and also from outreach locations at Groundwork; Shaw Road, Higginshaw; Limehurst Library; the New Deal for Communities (NDC) Bus and the Asian Women’s Project (AWP) Bus.
Learndirect offers a variety of courses from health and fitness to English and Maths at a variety of levels. At the end of it students can go on to complete recognised qualifications in their area of interest if they so choose. Anyone interested should pop in to the H20 centre on Union Street and speak to one of the trained staff for further information, or call 0161 621 9200.
