Oldham residents are invited to afternoon tea with Highway to Opportunities this Friday, 15th May to celebrate Silver Surfers Day 2009.
'Silver Surfers Day aims to encourage older residents to get on line and find out why the internet is so great' explains Louise Day, Highway to Opportunities.
'Anyone that drops in on Friday afternoon can have a go at using the internet, speak to some members of staff, and find out what sorts of help we can give residents, and share there concerns with using the internet.'
'We can offer advice on using the internet safely, using e mail and using the internet to access services they may be needing help from.'
'8 out of 10 older people in the UK can't access online services, they aren't media literate, and Silver Surfers Day gives us the chance to change that. Whatever your situation we have something to suite you.'
Anyone wishing to find out more about using the internet can drop into Highway to Opportunities on Friday 15th May, between 12-4.00pm
