Young people clean up Glodwick

A group of young people have given something back to the community by spending their half term cleaning up and restoring the Pakistani Community Centre in Glodwick.

The young people aged 14 to 17 are part of the Glodwick Youth Inclusion Project delivered by Positive Steps Oldham. Youth worker Attiq Rehman said; 'The young people have spent over 12 hours of their own time during half term litter picking, sweeping up, painting, and creating flower beds to make the area look nicer for their community.'

'Its great for them to be involved in something like this because it shows residents that young people do care about what their area looks like, and also gives the young people a sense of pride in their community.'

The event was supported by Oldham Street Scene
